More than one thousand mourners were present at the village funeral of East New Britain,  Tolai politician The Honourable Patrick Tamur. Mr Tamur the son of the late Oscar Tamur died suddenly  whilst attending to his electoral duties in Port Moresby, PNG’s capital.

Rapopo Plantation Resort was visited recently by motor yacht the luxurious MV Oceanic Discoverer. Pictured moored off the Resort its fortunate passengers were transported ashore by tender to savour the Rapopo Experience and then to explore the tropical delights of the Kokopo precint. Rapopo Plantation Resort is host to many travellers arriving by land, sea and air. One guest just dropped in via helicopter for lunch landing on the lawns of our landscaped foreshore gardens. Hosts Brian and Beverley Martin, experienced in the ways of our travellers were in no way nonplussed merely arranging a table for our chopper delivered guests!

Recently Rapopo Plantation Resort personnel combined with Air Niugini, at a Rugby League Finals' function in Port Moresby to promote the tourism attractions of East New Britain. Air fares and complimentary weekend accommodation at Rapopo were  part of the "goodies" offered.
